Which finger you prefer when keying in your mobile?

When receiving a call, I used to hold my cell phone with my left hand and listen to it with my left ear. I prefer to key in numbers and words by using my left thumb. If I’m sending a long message I normally use both my thumbs to key in lol … I always put my cell phone in my right front pocket of my jean when I’m going out. When I’m working I used to put my mobile in my handbag as jean is not allowed in the office. How about you, my dear friends, I would like to share your interesting stories.

Using both hands to keying in numbers will be very much faster then using a single hand.

I used to key in my mobile with both of my hands to speed up the messaging especially if I am busy doing other things. But in cases where I need to use only one hand because of the thing i'm doing like driving or holding something with me. I normally use my right hand since I'm a right-handed person. During office hours, I do use my mobile. Only I have to put it below my desk inorder for me not to be caught.(=

Hi JBrulez, keying when driving seems to be quite dangerous as we couldn’t concentrate on driving. Do you do it very often? Yeah, sometime we can’t help using our cell phone during working hour. Hiding the mobile phone below the desk is a good idea too lol... What would happen if you were unluckily caught? :)

Yup I know the risks involve of keying while driving but I drive often and I got used to it already so it kinda make me expert on the activity.(= Don't worry i'm tricky when it comes to using my mobile while at work. I'm like a mouse, I mean I only key when I make sure that their is no cats around to catch me.(=

No problem my friend, I am smarter than anybody else in our office so I'll never get caught using my phone, I hope so.hehe. I lower down my speed limits while keying at the same time driving inorder to avoid the risk of accidents.(=

i am just the opposite,i like to hold my cell phone with my right hand and listen to it with my right ear.but once my friend told me that he saw a reasearch that it is better to listen with the left ear,coz it is less harmful to our brain.so i try to use left, but i always forget to do that. i like to key in both of my thumbs, that is quicker than just use one,and if i don't,i like to hold the cellphone with my left hand and press the key with my right thumb. i never put my cell phone in my pocket,it's too big for me,and if i do that,my pocket looks like full of something, and i feel uncomfortable when i walk.so i put it into my bag,if i didnt take one,i didnt take my cell phone too. i have another habit,i like to turn off the power at night, and turn it on later when i get up,to save the power.i seldom have calls before 9 in the morning and after 10 in the evening.

It is interesting to learn from your friend about the harmful effect of cell phone in certain side of our ear. I have yet to discover more on this if such scientific reports are available. I like to keep phone in my trousers as it’s not too bulky for my jean pocket. I do have the habit of switching off my cell phone during night time when I am at home as to avoid undesirable disturbance. My land phone will always serve for any urgent calls when my cell phone is not accessible.

Hi yanstill, you are welcome. Yeah, our daily life is full of fun even a plain and a very minute incident. If we could observe any small familiar thing and value it we will find lots of interests in it. This is the way that people could enjoy their leisures and have lots of things to discuss for a simple familiar topic in daily life.

I love to use my left hand and finger to type a message when I have to send a text message. I love to use my left ear to listen to the cell phone. I don't know why. Maybe I am just used to it. Sometimes I use my right ear to listen for a change. I think this is my habitual action.

You always handle your cell phone with your left hand. I could reason it out by this way. As you are a right handed definitely you would use your right hand for more scrupulous tasks like writing and drawing as with your right hand engaged you still could use your left hand to answer any calls at the mean while. Do you agree with this, my dear friend?

You use your left hand for handling your cell phone in most cases. I find it a bit strange for you to put it in the right jean pocket. Is it convenient for you to take it out with your left hand and listen to it straight away when receiving a call?

Yeah eagle, we always try to use the finger which could do the keying faster, so that we wouldn’t spend much time on doing this. I can key in text with either thumb. I usually use both of my thumbs to do the keying if I need to type a longer text. posting and take care.

Hi dear diasinta, I dislike carrying anything with my hands when going out. It’s a burden and I hate to take care of the handbag with important stuffs in it ever now and then. I had even forgotten totally about my handbag when leaving the seat several times. Anyway I prefer going out with free hands as I always feel more relaxed and could enjoy my activities more comfortably. This is why I always wearing jeans when going out. For us, jeans are always the best, right? posting and cheers.

Hello dear lkbooi. I am not sure whether I have responded to this discussion before or not. Anyway, I would like to give it another try. Well, it is the same with me that I use my left hand with the left finger to press the keys to text messages or to find the name of the person that I would like to make a call to. I also use my left ear for answering a call. I always place my cell phone in my jacket pocket, especially those keeping-warm clothes, but not in summer, when I place it in my pocket of my casual trousers or jeans. By the way, we can wear jeans to work and so it is the same with our students. So I have learned something different about dressing at work. Thanks so much.

Hi dear jisir, welcome you to revisit this discussion again. I know what you are telling here is true as it agrees with what you had mentioned in the earlier response to this same discussion. I like your revised edition as it is more detailed and interesting. I am glad to learn more about the way the teachers and students should dress. Happy posting and bye.

Hi migenKC, I believe you are a right handed as you are using your right hand to do both the holding and typing. Lol...since I'm using my left hand when holding and keying my mobile phone but I'm not a left handed. I use my right hand to write, to eat and to do most of the daily works like sweeping, washing, cooking ...:)

Hi mikosoft, I agree that almost every right handed tend to use their right hand to do the simple and complicated things. It is funny that I find some friends of mine using their right hand writing and eating but do the other things like cutting, washing and so on by using their left hand.

When I'm keying in messages through my cellphone and dialling the numbers to call I use my right hand to hold the phone and use my right thumb to type. Then when I need to talk and listen I prefer to put my phone to my left ear. And left ear only. Whenever for some reason I have to place it over my right ear, I get very uncomfortable. It's like I don't hear the person talking to me very clear. Hmmm. I just realize that! Maybe my right ear is weak! LOL Same with you I always put my mobile phone in my right front pocket of my pants and not the left.

I like to hold my cell phone with my right hand and I prefer to key in by my right thumb. Very often I key in messeges with the help of my both thumbs:) Sometimes I hold my mobile with my left hand, when I have to note something, so my right hand has to be free.

It’s true we could key in messages faster if using both hands as we normally handle the keyboard. It’s normal for a right handed to handle the keying with the left hand when the right hand is engaged for writing or other scrupulous works.

I usually use my right hand in sending sms and calling or answering a call, I can do it faster with my right hand. Though, I have to practice with my left hand since my right has to do other things.

Hi philipe89, welcome to mylot, my new friend. Thanks for responding to my discussion and I appreciate it. I still remember when I was new at mylot I did post responses with few words or one liner answers. Later I was told that I won’t get any earning with that unless I replied with long response of good quality. After I had gone through the guidelines about the Do and Don’t related to the replying of discussion. Since then I never post any short responses. With best wishes and happy postings.:)
