I did a tide pool for a biology science project. For chemistry, I grew some crystals. I don't know if that helps any.

Ok for the chemistry, you can take salt water and put it in a container that you don't mind donating to the cause and let it evaporate. You can do the same with sugar and water. There is a charcoal one that grows crystals as well. I am not sure how to that one, but I am sure if you do some research online, there will be sites that gives you ideas on growing crystals. As for the tide pool, Take a box and paint the outside brown and take paper and make it look like water by painting it blue. If you have a shell shop where you live, you can get the things you need for the tide pool or other wise make your own items. I did both of those and the tide pool went on display at a local bank.
