The basic problem facing the parens andteachers of gifted children is whether to provide acceleration, enrichments, or some combination of both. The following are some special provisions for gifted children that are being made in various school systems. * After-school, summer school, and weekend workshops sponsored by the school or community * An extra period for library use and book discussion. * An extra subject - foreign language, music, mathematics etc. * Special homogeneous classes (sometimes called honors programs) * Innovative curricula for both students and teachers that up-date and enrich existing programs.
