Many 'days' involved in today's education, is it necessary?

My children have some or other day in their school every now and then. Some day they have blue day, some day they have topsy-turvy day, some day they have ettiquette day. Recently my child was told to bring noodles in their lunch box,and a spoon and a fork on ettiquette day. One day they were asked o bring lemon, and salt and sugar to learn how to prepare lemon juice. Are these things necessary for the sudents or do you think the school just want its name to be discussed among parents and show that we are carrying out so many activities.

I don't really think there should be these types of days.this is Ok in colleges but not for small children.somehow i find modern scholls wasting more time in such wasteful things. But yes other activities like projects, gardening etc should be encouraged.
