Do you have or did you have a pen pal?

I'm talking about the old school pen and paper sent through snail mail kind of pen pal. My dad has one. He's been writing his pen pal since before he met my mom. I think he was in high school or something. He still writes her today. He has never met her though since she lived in London and it costs so much for us to go there and for them to go here. So they're been writing each other for... I guess about 40 years now. Whoa. They send gifts to each other during Christmas though. I think it's really sweet. I've always wanted to have a pen pal but now it's like nobody has time to write using traditional materials. It's all text messaging or emails or IMs. It's okay though, but for me, it's more special if you really write it by hand. It's more personal that way. How about you? What do you think about this?

I used to have a penpal in like second grade. our whole class got penpals. and then in 5th grade i had a male penpal from france. i lost touch with both of them shortly after the school year ended. I've often thought about getting another penpal. I like to write, so i'd like to find one to write to instead of email. there are lots of sites available if you search for it.
