Do you think the Winchesters can kill evil eventually?

I've seen a lot of movies where characters attempt to destroy evil. But none of them totally succeeded. I mean, in the end, the characters temporarily stopped evil. But in the later part, evil regains its power and still plots on pursuing destruction.
In the supernatural, how can Sam and Dean actually stop evil? Or can they? Will the plot of the series be like in the movies where evil still regains back its power?

i don't think the Winchesters will eventually kill evil. evil exists from time immemorial, even before the existence of man. man's only power over evil is never giving into it or letting it control him but he cannot destroy it in its entirety. yes, man can control it, can even thwart its plans, or stop it from spreading but it will continue to exist. it is like the concept of light and dark, evil exists because there is good. if there is no evil, how can we recognize good, and if there is no good how can we recognize evil? its a bit complicated, i know but true...man cannot destroy evil. that's probably the reason why in the movies, after the big confrontation between good and evil, when the dust settles, we still see signs that evil survived..for it will, the only consolation we have that good will also survive...
