My dog a german shephard and another an alsation has started to shed hair really heavily and i don't know what to do. I tried bathing it with some medicinal shampoo but the problem seems to persist. Is it a disease or is it just due to the season( it's monsoon over here). I'd really appreciate any help!

I would assume it's just the change in seasons, unless you're noticing bald spot or a rash in some places. All you can really do is brush them more often to pull out the shedding hair.

I agree with the others. It is most likely due to the weather change. The best thing I've found to groom a shedding dog is this http://www.gundogsonline.com/dog-grooming-supplies/dog-shedding-blade.html It is a grooming blade, and really gets rid of hair quickly! It's also great for after a bath, because you can kind of "squeegee" your dog down with the flat part of the blade. I do this outside, and then let the hair fly wherever it wants to. The birds come and pick it up and use it for softness in their nests. Good luck!

the only remedy is to brush your dog at least twice a day.I have a saint bernard it is also shedding its hair.So I brushes him twice a day it really helps. When you will brush it regularly then you can find the improvement. My dog really really loves to get him brushed.
