Have you ever worked as an "extra" in a movie? They're always looking for people. They advertise that they need all looks and types. They will compensate you $100-$300 a day. So they say. I've never been an extra in a movie. Have you? Please comment.

No, but my Dad's car has been in a bunch of movies. I think that is pretty cool when I watch one and go "Hey there goes Mr. Ugly" (the is what the car was dubbed). I wish I could get into being an extra. I would love to do that.

What movies has your dad's car been in? Look in your local or community paper, You should be able to find something pretaining to movie extras needed in them. Good luck to you!!

I never worked as one, but my nephew in law did. He was an extra in Rocky iV. He was to play one of the audiences in Russia cheering the Russian contender. However I heard his scene got deleted. There was a TV movie where he played an ordinary working class man, but I do not know if that scene is still in.

Too bad his scene was deleted, but at least he has been able to get more work.

I had a girlfriend that use to do movie extras all the time she use to travel to NY back to NJ. She actually made pretty good money. I just because she didn't just sign up for one she did several companies that if she seen it in the paper or whatever shes calling and researching. But if you are considering it I wish you the best.

I have thought about it from time to time, but was mostly interested in what other people thought.Sounds like this was a regular job for your girlfriend...

I haven't but I know people that have and they said it is a great experience. I am tempted as they are always making movies here.

You should go ahead and do it then. You never know til you try. If you are chosen, this would be an excellent way for you to make more money...
