Let your child talk! Between three and five, your budding talker will probably become a chatterboxm discovering the fun of communication through words, wanting to attract attention and to tell you things. Make sure he also has children and adults outside your family to talk to.
Do not compare your child unfavourably with a more articulate older sibiling. Avoid interrupting him when he is talking or otherwise showing impatience.

You also need to make sure that you correct how they pronounce words if they pronounce them wrong. Do it in a fun way and have them repeat the word the correct way for you. Repetition will make him or her begin to pronounce it the correct way. My 3 1/2 year old is in speech therapy right now because he is not speaking where he should be for his age.
