why is it called fast food?

where did fast food get its name? I think that it is because the food is served at a ver fast rate. Or maybe because you only wait for it for a short time.

it is called fast food because the food to be served is ready to be presented to you after you pay for it and the tables of the eating section usually is next to each other and mostly offers kiddie play sections like mcdonalds and some in kfc.

its called fast food because unlike like other..u dont have to wait for ur orders,,and u can eat them very fast

Its called fast food because it is simple, made quickly, served quickly and can be eaten quickly. And can probably win a race. Hence the name fast food.. :p

You are right when you say that fast foods are served fast. But they say, fast foods are harmful. Why? Is it be because they are cooked fast and remain somewhat uncooked?
