any ideas about cat's litters (help)

about a month and 1/2 ago i rescue a kitten from the state island express and now he is part of the family the new problem is he is stinky cat and is driven me crazy, i use to buy fresh steps litter with my other cat and everything was find but now with freeway (that's the kitten's name)the house smells i got different type of litter the last one is call crystal it suppose to be the best and is very expensive, however its not working any advice on what to do
