What do you do wheny your friend becomes your boss? Do you think you can handle following orders from your boss-friend? Is it really possible to draw the line between friendship and professional roles?

yes, a line should be drawn betweem being a friend and a boss....you are a subordinate during office hours, after that you are friends after office hours...that is how i treat my subordinates...i prefer to be called "sir" during office hours, but after that they can call my name and we can talk anything under the sun....

i remember when i was in college and i had to do a part time job in a fastfood. i get close and become friends with everyone in the store and even to our store manager. we become bestfriends and until now, we are friends. we hang out on bars after our duty and duty our shift, i still respect her as my superior, attend to her assignments and instructions. but when we are outside we just treat each other as we are the same. i think that you just have to know your limit as friends and subordinates at work. if thats drawing a line, then it is. and you can work harmoniously.

There are a lot of people where the friend of a person has become a bass in the same office. It is not difficult to handle the situation. A friend is a friend outside office hours. In office during office hours, one has to be like boss and his assistant.
