I think it is degrading to the individual. I dont think less of them but I think they are stooping to low to get by. I think it is important to have self respect and I think if you allow to much you will lose it.

"I would be interested to know, why you think strippers have no self respect?" LOL absolutely! I'd like to know the same thing actually.....I have plenty of self respect and though I do in fact have more now then I did back in the day I still had it back when i was stripping...and how I carried myself at work was plenty proof of that.. "I dont think less of them but I think they are stooping to low to get by" Hhhmm so when I needed to eat, have a safe place to sleep and needed clothes on my back at the age of 17 should I have called you? Would you have taken me off the street and given me a hot meal and a place to live? Would you have given me a job? Or when my kids (later on) needed a roof over their heads, food in their tummies, diapers etcetc and their father was a slacker, should I have called you? Would you have come to our rescue?? LOL doubt it.... ppl need to understand something....a person needs to do whatever is available in order to survive...sure its easy to pipe up with "well why not get a real job?" etc however for many of us in the industry, we COULDNT get a real job...I personally couldnt because I wasnt in school, didnt have a home (street kid), so goin into McDonalds to apply for a job while dirty and smelly with no home addy or phone number etc probably wouldnt have worked out in my favour..... Everyone has a story to tell ppl and when you get into that world its NEVER cut and dry...sometimes it just takes a moment to listen and get the facts THEN one can make a FAIR assesment and hopefully have a better understanding...its not hard to do, honest ;-)

I don't think there's anything wrong or degrading about it. People do it for different reasons. For some, it makes them feel better about themselves and gives them the ability to pay the bills. For others it's a matter of doing whatever it takes to put food on the table and keep a roof over their childrens heads.

It is the customers who make the workers be degraded. I dont think you have to give up your values just it is very hard not to when people are grabbing you and treating you like an object.

"would u degrade yourself that way even if u needed money i have no bad things to say about it" okay I'm sorry but that makes no sense whatsoever...in one moment you call it "degrading" and in the very next you say you have nothing bad to say about it....well I'm sorry but calling it "degrading" sounds a lot to me like saying something bad about it.. that being said...I was a stripper for 12 yrs, I was in the Adult Entertainment industry in one form or another for 15+ yrs....so what do I "think about ppl who do stripping" I think we are just like anyone else, we have rent or mortgage to pay, children to feed/clothe and care for...we have bills to pay, we need to eat and so on...We are no different to anyone else walkin this planet, we just have a different career than some ppl..

I think if you are a confident, well adjusted person, with no hangups about your body, why not? I dont see it as a degrading thing to do....it is just a job like any other.... Many students do this as a way to pay their way through higher education....which seems sensible to me....you can make large money in a short time, allowing you more time for your studies!

Is it degrading? I don't know but I think degrading is a word used to describe something when you have something bad to say about it. That is an opinion. I love opinions, they play a large part in what "makes" a person who they are. Other than that I'm sorry but I don't have anything else to say in this discussion but, Rock on.

that is a good one people have the right to say and do as they please. what they do has no reflection on me so i dont care opinions make the world go if we all felt the same what a boring world we would have
