Why is he behaving so?

I had a very good friend at my workplace. He was really nice to me initially.
He broke out with his GF for some problem. After that he proposed me. I rejected tekling him its only rebound relationship.
Still he persuded me.
After that I left that city and moved back to my hometown.
After that our connection lessened( its due to him only).
Lately I thought he have forgot me.
But for few days, he has again started calling me and ask things as before when we were good friends.
He also tells words in very caring way now.
What is the reason that he is behaving like this nowadays.
Please help me with your guess as I am really ubnable to find out.

There may be only two reasons behind this..
one is he wants to continue his freindship with you after realising that he missed you a lot as you have mentioned that you both were good friends..
secondly ..still he may have his love for you and would like to continue hisrelationship waiting for your change of attention towards him.
whatever it may be..if you want to be friendly tell him frankly that you need friendship and nothing else because making things clear in the beginning will not create any problems..

Well it could be that he has always had feelings for you, but he had this girlfriend.Once they broke up he felt free to persue you.I would take it slowly to be sure, but if you like him too, I would give this man a chance and see want becomes of this relationship, who knows it could really be a match made in heaven..
