I have a three year old, and he eats ALL DAY LONG! He will eat two normal size bowls of cereal in the morning. 2 hours later: a bowl of fruit. And here's an example of what he will eat for lunch: A whole can of vienna sausage, a slice of cheese, a piece of bread and butter. 2 hours later: a HUGE bowl of noodles, or something else he will ask for. For dinner: (for example) 3 slices of pizza 2 hours later it's "mommy, I'm hungrey!" So I will give him some more of dinner, or whatever he asks for. He eats all day long, way more then me! And the thing is, he's skinny as a rail! He is far from over weight, he is so skinny, although I feed him ALL DAY! Is this normal? I feel he eats so much, and if he does, why is he so skinny!

LOL, that sounds like my son, though my boy's only a year now. They tend to have pretty high metabolisms, added to the fact that this is the period where they're experiencing the most growth in their lives (other than in utero). Today my son had a bottle at 7am, a big bowl of oatmeal at 8.30, a bologna and cheese sandwich at 11am, juice and chicken with rice and green beans at 12.30p, oatcakes with cheese and applesauce at 4, and now it's about 6.30 and I'm about to go make him some kimbop (it's like sushi, but not). I used to have money until he grew teeth!!! It's going to be horrible when they're teenagers. Blessed Be

Being three I imagine he runs it off! I'll bet his activity even keeps you slim! :-) It may be that he isn't getting enough protein. Sounds like he eats mostly carbohydrates. They aren't terribly satisfying for long. Try giving him some high protein foods for some of his "meals" - eggs, meat, nuts, etc.

he might just be a busy kid. My oldest is 4 and she eats a heck of alot. BUT..... she plays hard all day long therefore she gets hungry more, and burns off what she does eat. My youngest is 2, and she is bigger than her sister. lol. She was a 10 pounder. She will eat anything at anytime. But she stays chunky, she is not as active as her sister. She would rathar sleep than play.

My friend please get him checked for tape worms. It's common amongst children. Those who have them tend to remain skinny no matter how much they eat.
