Graves disease

I went through horrific difficulty with the hyperthyroid state,,onset late last Dec. Diagnosis and radioiodine treatment131 followed by Feb...took 3 months to feel normal and my respite lasted all of two weeks before becoming hypothyroid!!! AARGH! This is no fun either...fatigue, brain fog, irritability and mood swings and depression. Was put on Levoxyl and told it can take awhile..will go for tsh again in a couple of weeks..concerned that T3 is being converted in adequate amounts or would Armour dessicated thyroid be a better option?? I know everyone is different!! Any comments or ideas out there?? emerald1953

Hi emerald1953. I think the best thing is to follow your doctor's advice. It sounds like you've been doing that but hopefully your condition will improve soon. I have hypothyroid and have been taking meds for it now for a couple of years. I know what you are talking about when you refer to the fatigue, brain fog, etc. I also gained quite a bit of weight before we got my medicine adjusted correctly. Keep trying to learn more about the disease and talking to your doctor and others. Best of luck to you!
