I fully agree with what she says. I have an old woman as servant woman and hence she could not work efficiently. To change the servant woman, My wife has compassionate feeling towards the old lady. In most of her duties, I am also involved and I do whatever I can. Otherwise, it is a perfect list - a job chart for a person who is not paid.

Wow! That's a looong list. Well my view of a housewife is someone that takes care of their children, cleans the house and cooks for the family.

I think mostly she is the root of the family, the support and her love and joy in taking care of her family,is what holds the family together and makes a family succeed in this world.

My house runs very traditionally. My husband provides for our family financially and handles his career etc...but everything in our personal world and household, I handle...Childcare, Cooking, chores, cleaning, laundry, Handling Finances, dishes, trash etc... Two years ago we stil lived on a 100 are farm and I also ran the farm and took care of those chores as well. My husband works hard with his job seeing to our financial needs, I feel that when he is home, he should indeed feel like the King in his castle...he should be able to look around and KNOW exactly why he continues to go to hs job and work hard each day. We are a partnership in this life and if I had to ask for his help in any area, he would happily give it, but it would be a very rare occassion that I would ask.

I totally agree with you 1oo% my hubby is the bread winner although I do clean other peoples house during the day and my own. i still do all the house, laundry child care and etc. My husband does help with our daughter on the weekends to give mom a break to grocery shop. Our home is a partnership as well and That is how a house should be!

Let me start by saying that I used to be a housewife. I'm not anymore, because now I'm working and my husband is staying at home and being a sort of "house-husband." I never thought that what I was doing was that big a deal when I stayed at home with my kids. Now, though, now that I see on the weekends what kind of stress test it is, I fully appreciate everything that my husband does. The thing is, the roles haven't changed that much from yesteryear because the things that need to be done haven't changed. Somebody still needs to keep the house clean, do the laundry, do the dishes, take care of the kids, fold the clothes, handle the lawn work, and pay the bills. All I do is make the money.

Well my husband works and i am a stay at home mom so i tend to make sure that all his and the childrens needs are met first. From making sure they have clean clothes to fixing dinner. I keep a clean home and make sure all the bills are paid on time and we stick to our budget. However there are certain things i ask him to do because i think it is a mans job to do them. Most of the time he will but if he doesn't have time then i go ahead and do them. For example i think a married man should never have to do his own laundry, or dishes. Thats a womans job. However i think a man should take the trash out and weed eat the lawn. Now please note i am not being sexist here this is just my own opinion. These jobs are interchangeable though if one person or the other is very sick or pregnant then it is everyone for theirself, lol.

I think your wife should do things because she loves you, not because she feels it is her duty, cooking, cleaning, making lunch and stuff, if she wants to do it great, but I think the husband should help to, I am lucky my husband helps alot.

well now days diuties of house wife has become more challenging as compared to yesteryears. SHe is not just a maid cooking, cleaning and washing as it was supposed to be. She has become the binding glue that is the key now to keep a family togather and not letting children stray on wrong path. She is the advisor and lover and the backbone of the family now not the punching bag she used to be. Her opinions have become stronger and she expressses them with convictions not like early period when her advice was not even asked or ignored completely. Being a Housewife has become a full time work now. its now Home maker-who makes home not just house wife-wife of the master of house

A housewife takes care of everything at home.Cooking, cleaning, entertaining (when you really don't feel like it),taking care of the babies, and making sure the school age children are doing what they are supposed to do in school. Being a housewife is a 24/7 responsibilty. When you have a wonderful husband,he will help with the cooking and sweep the floors when he can clearly see that you are worn out. A housewife does EVERYTHING ELSE but work outside of the home. She always looks good for her husband.
