I'm really wondering why a topic got so many responses even its very ordinary and common. Sometimes with just one liner description. Is it because a lot of friends or the topis being posted is interesting. Don't you noticed it?

I am amazed too and wondering sometimes why a one liner get too many responses, maybe the one who posted it has many friends here or maybe that one liner caught a lot of attention, thus the many responses.

a lot of people do otice it. discussions like that could be because they have a large friends' list. i've seen people having hundreds and thousands of friends in their list. they are likely to get responses from them. doing tags and keywords provide better visibility of your discussions too. or posts that are simple enough would only require little effort to respond to on the responder's side. general topics are quite easy enough to reply coz it is not biased about age, status, country you are living in, gender etc. many people find these types of discussions interesting because they can relate to it easy enough. and in mylot, you won't want more complications... :)

well, topics whih are trivial in nature usually get more responses than thought-provoking questions. members or responders can easily relate themselves to the topics which are based on day-to-day experiences. having many friends in your list may help you get more responses than those who have fewer friends.

its always just the two things, a single liner topic whos getting a lot of responses means a lot of friends or its really a nice topic. then a long discussion not getting a lot of responses means the user doesnt have many friends or a lot of users doesnt have time to respond to a discussion that is very long to read unlike a single line topic. :-)

Hello there Vonn1378! Yes, I have noticed that the discussions with the most responses are mainly one liner and questions that are common, at times I wonder about it myself. In fact I was talking to my dad about Mylot and told him about this very discussion (one liners and plain blunt questions) receiving more responses that I can dream of and he gave me this explanation “the reason those types of discussions receive so many responses is because it is based on a question that many individuals can relate to.” He has repeatedly mentioned to me, those kinds of discussions are the key to successful responses. Although I must admit that I have never posted a one liner….lol For example, how often do you clean your house? A discussion like that would generate more responses because everyone cleans their house but then discussions about the ozone layer would be a topic that is commonly heard of but does not play too much of a role in our lives that we could generate a “quality” response. In essence I would say that most of the Myloters choose to respond to discussions that they can easily generate a response by their experiences. Don’t get me wrong! I do can not speak for anyone else but I, this is merely just my view on what’s going on here.
