Would love to read Hazel's journey, as my mother has been diagnosed with advance Alzheimers Disease.

Alzheimers disease is unlike anything you will have to deal with. Do as much research as you can so you can be informed. Most everybody follows the same patterns and you need to be able to recognize them. Also, develop patience because you are going to need it. I wish the news could be better but realistically there is no good news about this disease. I have personally lost a family member that was under my care and caring for the individual is very difficult.

Alzheimer's disease is a neurodegenerative disease characterized by progressive cognitive deterioration together with declining activities of daily living and neuropsychiatric symptoms or behavioral changes. It is the most common type of dementia. There is currently no cure for Alzheimer's disease. Currently available medications offer relatively small symptomatic benefit for some patients but do not slow disease progression. Very sorry to tell that.
