Anyone else sort of annoyed by this? They are raising the prices an average of .09 cents per cup (drink made behind the counter only) in the US for corporate owned locations (franchises do not have to go with the price hike). If you are a Starbucks fan, will this effect how often you buy an over the counter made drink?

You woudln't catch me buying coffee in Starbucks if it was the last coffee shop left on the face of the earth. I'd sooner quite coffee cold turkey, than buy coffee at Starbucks. I've never liked the taste of their coffee, and it's not even worth half the price, let alone what they charge for it BEFORE the increase!!!

Around here all of the coffee houses (even the local only ones) charge pretty much the same thing for the coffee they sell. If you want decent coffee (ie not Folgers, Maxwell house or Nescafe) you pay money for it. For me, I am really picky with coffee, the only place you will catch me drinking coffee is a place like Starbucks because I like strong coffee. You are not going to find that in any non-coffee house drive thru or most sit down restaurants.

I don't frequent Starbucks often, and when I do, my boyfriend usually pays for the coffee, so the price doesn't really matter to me. When you think of, though, the price of everything is going up. Why should coffee be any different?

I think what bothers me about this is that they just raised prices last October ( about .07 cents a cup). This isn't because coffee prices are increasing, it mainly due to the dairy prices. It is a big cycle. Food normally used to feed cattle is being used for other things (like corn - ethanol gasoline) which raises the cost for feed, which raised the price farmers sell milk for. I don't buy cows milk but I can not imagine the prices have jumped so much that they need to raise prices .16 cents in a year. Can you imagine how much profit they are making? I have 2 Starbucks within a 5 minute drive form my hours, another 2 that are about 15 minutes away, they are always packed! Maybe for people like me who love Starbucks but hate paying the price will be saved money and calories by the price increase.

Oh yeah, I am very annoyed over here. As if paying the price for a cup of coffee that would get me a pot for a week at home isn't bad enough... let's hike it up! I have definitely cut back on my purchasing and really only do so with a gift card I have lurking somewhere in my wallet. What irks me even further are the tip jars they leave on the counter. WHAT?! As if the coffee isn't expensive enough, let me tip you for doing your job and taking 45 seconds to make me a ridiculously expensive cup of coffee. Thanks Starbucks.

that's why I don't go to starbuck anymore. Prices are getting higher and higher.
