The danger in listening to secular or non christian music lies not in the content of songs itself but to the true intention and motive of the one who wrote it. Often times secular music has a subliminal message. What is this? Subliminal message is a signal or messages embedded in another medium, designed to pass below the normal limits of the human mind's perception. These messages are unrecognizable by the conscious mind, but in certain situations can affect the subconscious mind and importantly, the unconscious mind, and can negatively or positively influence subsequent later thoughts, behaviors, actions, attitudes, belief systems and value systems. The term subliminal means "beneath a limen" (sensory threshold).

im a born again Christian too.music is a good way to testify your faith like some Christian bands do.if that would be the motive, for me that would be alright..what matters most still is the heart of the one singing a song..God created music to glorify Him

having a christian band go secular (to be heard on the local top 40 stations) is a good way to get the attention of non christian people that appreciate good music.
