I intend to travel to Australia and since I'm there, I intend to visit some of my online friends for the very first time. I just need some advise from you guys out there. Would it be appropiate to bring them some gifts as friendship or getting to know gesture? What is best to take with me for a small token for them. I dont know, according to my culture, it is best when you visit someone from overseas or when they come and visit you for the first time, to give them something as a rememberance. Does anyone practice this?. Help, I have only a week to get those gift. Thank you.

yes i think it would be nice. maybe something from those tourist shops in bugis village? like keychains? that's what i brought a family that i had farmstay with. or some postcards, which depict singapore. or some local cookies, like those from bengawan solo.

I think it is a lovely thing to do, I am the type of person who doesn't like to go to visit anyone empty handed, a small gift for the table or just some nice thing, in your case a nice souvenir would be lovely, something not expensive as you wouldn't want to embarrass anyone with something expensive, I hope you have a wonderful time in the land of Oz.
