Since this discussion was started we have experienced some rain and you can actually see some green around but not nearly as much as what we need. We have also had some extremely hot days and had a huge blackout not so long ago that affected us here in Geelong and also in Melbourne but today is nice and pleasant.

Where I live, we often have droughts and water restrictions, too, even when it's not summer. It's generally mild where I live, sometimes a little cold in the winter and very hot in the summer. During the last few days, it's been extremely hot and dry, but the fires have been under control We get a lot of fires here when it gets really hot and dry. It seems like every time we have hot, dry winds, a big fire starts up.
