Do you know how to cut a pineapple properly leaving the eye spots?

What are eye spots??? I know there are those pokey things on the outside. I cut that off with the rest of the outside. Then there is the hard core...I guess that is why pineapple has a circle cut out of the middle. ha ha But I find it easier and cheaper just to get the pineapple in a can. :)

As you cut the skin you see those black spots.They are the eye spots. http://maona.net/archives/produce_and_plants/ explains how to cut it properly. P.S I like pineapple.
