Many places in Europe are very expensive these days, especially the large cities that lots of tourists enjoy visiting. Paris, Rome, Venice and Florence are very popular cities. Train passes are quite a cheap way to get around Europe. Staying in youth hostels or camping are the cheapest accommodation possibilities. Often it is most economical to fly further away to places where the cost of living is lower than in Europe. I think India would be a fantastic place to fly to for a month. It is such a large country that a traveler could see the Golden Triangle area, some wildlife like elephants and some stunning beaches as well. They could fly on a bargain airfare and stay in local guest houses.
