Hi! My daughter is 15 months old and I am wondering when to start with potty training. And how the heck do you even get started?? Lately she hates it when she has a dirty (stinky) diaper, and she is frantic for me to change it. I am wondering if this is a sign to make a move to train her. I have heard that if you train too early, it can make them wet the bed later?? When do you potty train??

the potty seats say 18 months on the box, but it wouldn't hurt to try. but if she isn't telling you before she has to go, chances are she won't be ready. give it a try, see if she goes. if she doesn't then put it away and try again later. it won't hurt to try as long as you don't push her.

Thanks for the advice! She is not telling me yet when she has to go... just AFTER ;o) But I might try it out and see what happens.

there is really no set age,but i have noticed from my children and my friends children they are ready when they start taking off their diapers constantly.i have a 36 month old and 25 month old twins and my 36 month old boy is jsut lazy when it comes to the potty,he will pee in it,but afraid to poop.so i keep telling him big boys and daddy go poop on potty and then he will sit there for awhile and look at a book, but still wont go.you just have to be consistant every day.now my 25 month old girl,as soon as she gets up i take her diaper off and sit her on the porta potty and she will sit there watch tv and she will go pee and poop.and when shes done she gets a treat.but she wont do it every day but at least its a start.and her twin brother sits on the potty but hes not ready yet.he likes to keep getting off the potty.its not a easy chore, especially i have 3 on potty.but if they keep taking diapers off they are ready.
