When was the last timed you visited a Zoo? Have you ever visited a Zoo?If you have, what is your favorite animal at the Zoo? I just visited the Portland Zoo in May, after not had been to a Zoo for quite sometime. This was my second time to the Portland Zoo and they had made some changes since the last time we had gone. Polar Bears for me are usually one of the most fun animals to watch at the zoo and seals/otters. We didn't really get any good pictures of them though, but did get several good pictures of this giraffe.

It has been a while since my last zoo visit but I have visited several and would say that the DC zoo is my favorite. My favorite zoo animal is the panda bear. I think the panda bears are so adorable. I love their black and white color and their cute faces and how they feed and play with each other. I also love penguins as they are cute too. :-) I have been to the DC Zoo, Philly zoo and San Francisco zoo as well as a local zoo here.

Penguins are of course cute lol Panadas are way too cute. I don't think though I have ever seen a Panada in real life...at least that I can recall. I want to go to the San Francisco Zoo. I have heard such good things about it. There are so many that I'd like to visit. If given the chance and we were in New Orleans again, I want to go to their zoo.

I live near the DC zoo and my favorite zoo animal too is the panda bear. They are so pretty, sweet and innocient looking.Hmmmm.But if you did come face to face with one you will find that they are not so sweet. My second favorite is a wolf. It has been about a bit since I have gone there and did not get to see the panda's,because that is when the baby panda was born and the viewing window was closed.I went to a local smaller zoo about 2 months ago.It has a petting feeding area with lots of animals. But,I think that when the weather cools down some we will go on a weekday, make it a homeschooling field trip.

I have never been to a zoo in my life. I want to go someday. I really like elephants and I have never seen one in real life. Actually I would love to see all the animals. Hopefully I will get to go soon. I think my grandson would love it and me too.lol.

I think I posted a similar topic awhile back, cause I remember you saying you had never been to a zoo. I really hope you are able to go and someday soon. They are pure enjoyment in my opinion. I love them. Wish we had one closer to us, but at least we have a handful 5 to 8 hours away. My favorite animal is dolphins and I have yet to be able to see one in real life either. I hope to be able to go to Sea World or something like it in the near future so I can watch them.

I don't think I have any really have a favorite animal to go see. I like seeing all the animals. I like how the monkeys swing and bounce around. I like how the hippos are lazy and float. I like how the lions and tigers lay in the sun and roar. I like the bears and how they look so warm and cuddly. ha ha I like all the varieties of snakes and reading each plaque about them. I like the elephants and amazed at their size. I have been able to feed cows, goats and lamas. :) I just love animals...so I don't think there is one that I say that I like to visit more than the others. :) And the last time I visited the zoo...2 years ago in Florida. But now that I am working, maybe that will change when we are able to afford it in time.

It started at the beginning of this week. Turns out...it was a bad week to start with the events happening with my sister. I would have liked to have been able to drive up to see and be with her. But I have gone back to being a portrait photographer. :) JCPenney is one of the portrait studios that allows creative portraits shots after we get the norm shots taken. And the great thing is...those creative shots are often what the customers love! :)

Oh man, last summer and I hated it. Every blooming year since the girls have been born I have had to go to the zoo with them. While I put on my best smile and be a sport about it, deep down inside, I hate the zoo. It's hot, smelly, crowed, and hilly as all get out. Thank God finally the girls said they really don't like the zoo and don't want to go back any time soon. Whew, I didn't think that day would ever come, LOL.

I've visited several zoos over the years, and I think my favourite is Singapore zoo. They have a great collection of animals. I particularly enjoyed watching the polar bears swim underwater, and they also have a komodo dragon, although it seemed to be asleep most off the time.

I'm very sorry for you and your girls, but I think you must have visited a very poor and uninteresting zoo, or a badly managed one. Perhaps one day you can visit other Zoos and then you will get fun out of it. Why not go by yourself, you alone, for one afternoon, in the middle of the week when there are few people around and enjoy it? :)

Man, it has got to be over ten years since I have been to a zoo. I like the monkeys and I liked going to the snake house. It was dark and spooky, and just a lot of fun.

I have been very lucky to visit some of the best Zoological Gardens, most of all in Europe. They all try to have a representative collection of the animal species, land, water, earth... but also each one specializes in some topic. They also try to recreate the natural environment and to avoid cages. I was most impressed of Frankfurt Zoo in Germany, the Gorillas are absolutely impressive, they are outside and only a relatively low but very thick glass is between them and the visitors. Siberian Tigers in Munich can be seen in freedom, only separated by a profound abyss. Vienna has a great Elephant family, very friendly, they can be feed and touched, and also a good exhibition of alpine fauna, in a rocky terrain. There are also impressive pythons and boas. Hamburg has giraffes, zebras, etc. a real Serengeti. I think that sea animals are better seen in the United States zoos. The best I saw were in the Maritime Museum of Monaco, which has been installed by Jacques Cousteau. I agree with you in the funny Polar Bears, also seals and otters are very nice. But lately they star of any zoo that can afford it, is of course a Panda bear. One can only stand and wonder. It must be their ressamblance to a gigantic baby that makes them so appealing for humans. Visiting Zoos is a very fine hobby, and very instructive too. You learn to respect God´s creation and the need to protect them all.

I have not visited a zoo since I was a little kid and that would have been in Saint Louis, Missouri. I recall that they had a hairless albino monkey. Now in California I am going to check out the zoo in Santa Barbara soon

I haven't been to the zoo for a couple of years now but I do intend on going as soon as the weather gets better, I have over the last few year contributed to the collection for the new elephant enclosure which is now open so I want to go and see that but my favourite animal is the arangatangs...in the next few weeks I will go for sure.

Two years back i visited zoo and see it, but i am sorry to say that there was very few animals as compared to my last trip. Animals are healthy when they are free, i don't understand why they make zoo and keep animal in difficult condition.... just for few money.

My girls playing with the goats - Here are my girls playing with a goat in a little petting zoo we stopped at in Fargo, ND. Really sweet. This little goat had an infatuation with shoes, as it kept licking everyone's shoes when we went in there.
I love going to the zoo! It's so much fun watching the animals. It's really nice to see them in a bigger zoo, to see them in their "natural" habitat. My kids love the large animals... cats especially. I have to admit that their presence is kind of awe inspiring. I love giraffes. I think it's because they are so big and awkward. It's just another one of those things that makes you wonder why God did what he did. :) My youngest daughter remembers the dolphins when we went to the zoo in Chicago. She was only 2 at the time, but she still talks about the "fishes" that jumped and splashed everyone. LOL!

We went to the zoo some months ago. At that time my son was still two years old and I hoped he would know more animals in real. After all, children should be interested in the zoo. I like the zoo, too.

Hello Penguinsangel, The last time I visited the zoo was almost 30 years ago. It was before I started my primary school education *smile* I remember that time, visiting a zoo is an amazing experience that would make me wide awake at night thinking of the day to come. There were many animals there and I love the tigers very much. They looked fierce but cute. I had a fun day whenever I visited the zoo. Right now, I don't know how it looks like. I heard that the zoo is getting less and less attractive compare to the last 30 years. The animals are getting old and the environment is not as good as before.

The last time I got to visit the zoo and see all sorts of animals was around 3 years ago. I joined my daughter's field trip to the zoo and we had tons of fun! The zoo was called Avilon zoo, it's just a newly developed zoo here in the Philippines.

Hi Pneguisangel! The last time I visited a zoo was 5 years ago when I took my 2 nieces there for a visit. They were so excited and at the same time nervous because their picture will be taken with a boa constrictor on their shoulders. I had fun too especially when I saw my favorite gorilla is still there because I use to give him bananas when I was a kid.:)

As a child I loved visiting zoo's but as I grew and started to know about the animals natural habitats from then on I have seriously stopped visiting zoo's cause here in my country the zoo's are not that well kept as in other country's so I have joined a club which offers you to places like deep forest camps where you get to see all the wild animals in their natural habitat, till date I have been to one the of the most well known natural wild habitats forest but with great difficulty I have managed to get a glimpse of a well grown male tiger and a panther but yes the good side of it is that you get to see a lot of Elephants, deer's all around your camp as well. But I wish to see the king of the jungle in its natural habitat, and also a dolphin also. I hope i will be able to live this dream of mine.
