as time passes, the people we work with become more close to us than our family. we spend time with them 5 days a week, where as we hardly find the time to spend with our family or friends. as this is the case, we became closer to them each day. but on the other hand there are many problems of being friends with your boss or your employees. is there a middle road for this kind of relationship?

You're right, and for me its easier to work if there's harmony and camaraderie. We spend more time with co-workers than we do with our loved-ones, so why not make the best of it? I can't imagine working where there's competition, animosity and gossip around me. It actually lessen the stress. With superiors, of course its hard to be 'friends' with them. I think the best I can be is on friendly terms with them. There are bosses who knows how to treat their subordinates, and I'm glad mine are.

i think if the working environment is healthy, then real, sustainable friendships can develop. This can only be a good thing. However, i agree there will always be a distance simply because of the nature of the process blessed be
