Is it good to eat a fruit with it's skin? Do you eat the fruit with skin?

It is true that if we do eat the fruit with its skin, we are more enriched with the vitamins and minerals that it contains, but yes, we cannot eat the banana etc, with its skin on(though there are still many people who do not know that they have to peel the skin and have it ! )Yet there are other kinds of fruits that can be eaten with the skin on, even though we prefer to throw off the skin, like many people discard the skin of apples, chikoo etc, which are full of vitamins. Other fruits where the skin is to be discarded, i guess nature has made it that way, and we couldnt be loosing much of the vitamins from it.

I too heard that some people eat banana with skin. Chikku's skin will be some what odd and I do not feel like eating. But it is good to eat with skin. Thanks for responding.

Certain fruits you are meant to eat the skin, ie: apples, pears, oranges. Others like pineapples and bananas, you are meant to remove the outer layer to find the delicious tender fruit inside. I do agree that with some fruits, it is better to eat the skins because you get more vitamins and fiber from eating it this way.

You are right. But many of us do not eat the skin of oranges etc. May be we have to do so.

Yes. Even I do that. But orange skin also is good it seems. Sometimes I make some side dish with that, though it is not that tasty.

eating with skin is healthyer than diismiss the skin for apple and potato. their mineral and vitamins are near the skin!

My Grandmother always used to say this. But usually we remove the skin for both and take. I think I should not do that hereafter. Thanks.

Actually the skin of the fruit is the section of the fruit which has teh most vitaminic content.
In terms of bananas, and oranges, if you actually watch placeslike fresco produce you rfruit juice or milk shake they have extremely powerfull blenders which blend the entire fruit to juice inclusive of peel,these are retailing at about 120 pounds each

From what I know eating fruit that has skin on it is good for you. Most of the vitamins are in the skin of the fruit. Me personally only eats apple peel but thats about it I don't like too many fruit skins.

Even if the skin is good, we cannot eat all the fruits with skin. I eat apple and goa with skin but sapota skin is not tasty.
