How many of you drift into a different world while watching movies?

Hi, does it happen to you too that once you are watching a movie, other things around you seem to vanish and you are very much into the world of the movie you are watching. You feel a part of the scene or movie and seemingly come out of it only when the movie gets over ! Some people get so engrossed in it that they even start moving their wrist when there are some fight scenes! What are your views?

I believe that when you go to the movie that you want to be swept away to another world. But it all depends on the film. When I see a period piece, it is easier to be taken to another time and place. I remember when I went to see Age Of Innocence, a film set in the early 20th century,I had a culture shock when I came out of the theater because I had just seen men in formal attire and women in long gowns. And to walk into the street and find people in blue jeans and t-shirts.And I was in a daze after seeing Schindler's List too. It was set during WWII and it was engrossing that it took a little while for me to adjust back to 1994.

Thanks for your response and taking out time to reply back. I can understand your state, as this has happened to me at times too, i guess those 2-3 hours of seeing the movie, do take us into another world.

Thanks for replying, yes that happens at times and it happened with my sister too. On seeing an interesting movie she a times gets so involved that she starts enacting the person in the scene too, and is too engrossed to realise what is happening around her.

Yes, I zone out and I'm totally into the movie when I am watching one at the movie theater on the big screen. It isn't quite that intense for me when I watch a movie at home but it definitely has my full attention. It's just easier to get distracted at home. I also feel like I enter the world of the book when I read some of my favorite books.

If it is a very attractive and interesting movie, I would drift into the world created in the movie and plunge myself deeply into it. Later after the movie, I would still think about it as if I were still there in the movie world. This kind of movie usually leaves me a very deep impression without being easily forgotten.
