I have some clothes that are manufactured from synthetic fibre.I am constantly receiving little electric shocks every time I remove an item of clothing. One such garment is a jacket that I own. Whenever I take off this jacket an electrical current strikes me on the thumb.Although this is quite harmless it is very annoying.Recently I started taking it off very slowly to avoid getting a shock. One does not get this sort of thing with natural fibres like cotton material.

Take your jacket off in a dark room, you can actually see the sparks, lol. We used to scuff across the carpet when children, and do this with high power sweaters, lol!

Hi: I just sent this information to another member who was having the same problem - I have found a product called Staticoff to be useful. I can buy it at my local hardware store, but just in case you can't the website may be helpful - www.staticoff.com. Peter
