what did you guys think?! i just finished reading it today, after getting it on friday [its my tendency to finish the books in outrageously short periods of time]. i was actually really satisfied with the ending; i had NO idea how she was planning to finish the whole thing up in less than 1000 pages, but she pulled it off. the woman is brilliant. who were you most upset about losing? what came as the biggest shocker? how did you feel when you got done, knowing that this is the end of the harry potter story? personally, fred dying was the worst for me. fred and george have been my favorite since the 3rd book, with lupin coming in as a close second. i always really liked him too. biggest shocker for me was the snape thing. harry not dying after getting hit square with the killing curse was almost the biggest shocker, as i couldn't figure out how on earth rowling was gonna pull off him NOT dying, but the explanation was good. like i said, the woman is brilliant. in the end though, i think it was ended really well. i think her writing more on harry potter would just be overstretching it, though i would like to know what happened in 19 years between the end of the story and the epilogue. any theories? general discussion on HP and the deathly hollows... GO.
