most cartoonist work at home.when they get an idea,or a "gag",they draw it in pencil on a sheet of heavy bristol board, about twice the size it will be printed.when the pencil drawing is perfected, they rule the borders and ink in the lettering.then they go over their pencil lines, usually in black indian ink. then they erase the pencil lines.a weeks worth of strips are sent to the sydicate at a time.cartooning is a very competetive business.king features alone recieves more than 2,000 submissions from would be cartoonist each years.

alas. you have missed the activity of mylot. so, I am trying to revive your topic., which might get you a notification from mylot into your email. if you find this interesting, come back. now, I FOUND your topic, of over 3 years through my search in mylot search bar, using the tag indian ink.. and, it gave me some 3 cents. as a reward. In India, we have very famous cartoonists. and the moment you mention the word cartoon, I get to remember the famous brothers.. R.K.Laxman, and R.K.Narayan. the first is a cartoonist, the later a writer of short novels. thanks for a topic.
