US and India far ahead

India

I was just checking out the mylotters by location and was kind of dissapointed to find out that US and India were leading the mylot population and no other country was even close by. United States was on 25778 and India on 25465 followed by Philippines at 8258 and United Kingdom at 4221 and the others in descending order. I don't know why there is such a huge gap after the two leading nations. Is mylot only gaining popularity in these two countries?? What about the other countries with large populations like China?? Do you think the statistics will change soon?? Or the gap will widen more..

Yes soon India and China will pass Americans on this site. A penny isn't worth shite anywhere except India. THat is why you see so many desperate attempts by them to do anything for a penny. The average income in India is $30. So MyLot is a gold mine to them.

LOL. Most Americans do it for the fun. Well I'll speak for myself. I own a company that makes enough money that I do not have to work during the winter, December through April. A 4 month vacation is very nice.

Hello, It just goes to show that there are too many Americans and Indians that have too much time on their hands. They either spend too much time on the computer or they are really smart and know where to make the money. Soon others will find this out and join in! Peace, Totty

Well that's fine because two democratic counries are leading mylot.com! After all this is a good sign for freedom and equlity to share with justice! I think no others would have objections regarding because the on going discussions have always the varieties and varrious kind of perspectives with these two countries participation freely! What others are believing?

The cost of living is lower in India, but China is Communist and it has censorship so they may not be able to ask any question or post anything they like. The pay rate of mylot has gone down and that encourages people from countries such as India and Pakistan and discourages those from the United States, Great Britain, Australia, New Zealand and Canada. Yet we need these countries.

I disagree with what you said. I am from China and I had stayed in some other countries such as America. Actually, I can not see much difference on the aspect of freedom of speech between China and some other countries. In China, we can discuss almost any topics as we like.this can be proved if anyone here is literate of Chinese, they can go to these Chinese language chatting room. Language barrier prevents many Chinese people to come here.Cos there so mang forums in Chinese, and most Chinese people are chatting there. The reason for me to come here is that I do not want to forget the words i have learnt, and also learn something new. Frankly speaking, it is too hard to earn this money. take the money earned from Mylot as a bonus for our hard work done here is quite Ok.:)

in my opinion it has something to do with the computer awareness in both countries plus we indians usually have more knowledge of english language cmparing to other big populated countries like china or indonashia.

About three months ago, it called my attention that Philippines was third in myLot, after USA and India. I posted a discussion about this subject. It was quite easy for me to understand that USA were the first, being the biggest economy in the world, and that India were the second, being also the second most populated country in the world. What I didn't find a reason for was Philippines third place. About China, it's true that it's the most populated country in the world, but English is not a common language to speak there. In India, on the contrary, great part of the population has English as a second or third language. Now I realize that this explanation is also valid for Philippines. I think the statistics will not change very much as time goes by. MyLot is an English writing site so countries with the greater English speaking populations will remain in the first places.

Maybe people do want to earn more in these two countries when compared to others. I mean, even when they have other work, people in there might want to earn some extra money too.

I believe the main reasons for the small number or participations from other countries are due to language. myLot only accept posting in English and most of the other countries may not have the number of users as much as the US or India when it comes to the ability to post in reasonably good English. Just look at the top countries you mentioned. You would realize that the command of English from those countries are higher and better than the others. That is what I felt since when I tried to get some fellow Malays to join, they refused because of the posting rules that require them to post in English.

the reason is very simple for this as US,UK,and us ,INDIANS are very comfortable with english ,so we are more and china as far as i know are not comfortable with english and their main language is still mandarin or chinese, but they are picking ,so its not about population but about language.even in india south india is more prevalent here than north india and reason is some ,though i'm a north indian living in south india.

the biggest reason why u dont see lot of chinees here is due to the language barrier. for indians mylot is a gold mine, even though mylot doesnt pay that much these days. I think india is soon going to overtake US and become the most participated nation in mylot, and chinees will folkin as they learn the language. India and China are fast moving nations, so its no wonder if the people in these nations try to utilise every oportunity given to them to make money!
