what would you do??? I personally have seen this happen and this day and age people are so defensive and can be so cruel that I have to admit that my 5'2" 120 lbs self did nothing. But to this day it has bothered me. I also see many woman hold their babies on their hip while smoking a cigarette and it infuriates me. I jjust think to myself maybe they just don't know that it's harmful but at the same time who am I to tell them? I don't know . . . just wondering what other people would do inthe same situation . . .

In fact women shouldn't smoke when they are pregnant. It's just too harmful for the baby. If I don't this woman at all, I am unable to bother her to ask her to stop smoking. If I know her, be sure I will persuade her to get rid of it.

i also saw many times with those moms who are really smoking while in fact she's pregnant..it's one of my neighbor who had her second baby but still she's a change smoker..the effect on her baby is they look so thin, very pale..i'm already a mother but i don't like to have that kind of bad habit because i know what are the possibility that could be the effect to my child not only physically but also mentally and emotionally..

I think everyone know that smoking is harmful to baby.Perhaps it will cause baby's bad condition when they are born.If I meet such thing,I will not warn them. They understand danger but they still do smoking. It's their freedom.I don't have right to interfere.

OMG just the thought of it just makes me feel so uncomfortable! But what can you do? Go up to them and tell them that what they are doing is hazardous to their child, they'd probably curse you out ya know! If you're gonna smoke, smoke, but don't start blowing smoke in a little babies face, their lungs are new and precious and young, they are not even fully developed yet! it's like dropping a baby on his/her head when they're little when you know that their head is still soft and not fully developed to be hard like ours! if the woman was smoking then, i guess they smoked while the baby was in her womb! just think about the terrible things she entered into her system that could have affected the development of the baby, poor little thing.

If it were family and close friends then I might have a word but in the end it really isn't none of my business. I am sure they know they affects of smoking while pregnant and around children, i mean there are tons of information out there for them to get hold of. If it were a stranger then they would probably tell me to shove off and mind my own business. As long as I know that smoking can harm an unborn child and second hand smoke can too, then that is all I am concerned about.

If it was a friend or family I would say something but if it was someone on the street I wouldn't say anything. Obviously they have to know that it's wrong. Any doctor would've told them. If they want to hurt the baby that's their doing. I know it sounds harsh but it's them that have to make that decision. They could hear it over and over again and just keep smoking. Unfortunately it's the truth.

no smoking - no smoking sign
I don't say anything. I shake my head and try and get my kids away as fast as I can. I think people who smoke are so inconsiderate of anyone. To tell you the truth I wish the would all go in one room and smoke until they throw up. There is a law here where people can't smoke in cars with kids but I think that should be everywhere not just the car.

You know...let 'em smoke. Not only is it their life, thier kid, and all their choice, but really - I am sure by now people are well aware of all the facts. My sister smokes, sometimes even around her baby. Generally outside, not in the house ever, and rarely in the car. But let's stop and truly think about this - if you are outside anways, especially in some of the filthy cities in this country, a little smoke blowing through teh air is nothing compared to what is already in the contents of the smog layer sitting around you and your kid. Also, I have had several friends who for the most part but not entirely gave up smoking while they were pregnant, and their kids turned out just fine. Not to say that it couldn't have hurt them, but really now, I never told them how badly they sucked as a parent for doing it. There are far worse things people can do, I think you should be thankful if smoking is the worst.
