Why do we have to wait all day for repairmen?

My AC went out on Sunday. Today I already had scheduled off to get my car repaired and it is my birthday. Well I have been stuck waiting around all day on the AC repairman to get out here. The company tells me "Oh he will call 30 min before coming and it could be at anytime today!" Ugh. So my cats and I have been stuck in a hot house at 87 degrees waiting on these people because that is who is on our warranty for the AC unit and the thing is not even a year old. Why do we have to wait around in a hot house for these people? Especially in Texas near August!

Grrr...that gets on my nerves. Our power went out several weeks ago, and it took the power company almost 2 days to fix the power in one little section of road. It was crazy. Our local internet/cable company is the same way. You better hope you don't have anything important coming up to do online if the internet goes out, because they will take their sweet time getting to you. They always call and say it will be such and such a time and then that time turns into another day.

I have to work tomorrow. I cannot miss another day there and it is so hot in this house! I have 4 cats that are suffering too waiting for these people just to get out here.

It's ridiculous they won't hurry out to your house! I hope they fix your AC soon.:)

Well, happy belated birthday. I guess you have no choice but to wait because you need their service. However, I feel a day is too much. I would not wait at home for them. I would have arranged for them to call me an hour earlier if possible so that they can be sure I would be home to receive them. If they insist on the 30 minutes only notice, I would tell them what time they can expect me. In most cases, I would have given them a time frame instead or I look for other service providers. It is not as if they are the only ones around. lol.
