do you own a notebook/laptop? brand? is it good or so so?

my sister bought me a refurbished IBM T30 notebook.. i love it in anyway because we're not that rich we're kinda in the so so doing okay average.. i ow a desktop but im a graduating student so owning a notebook really is a big help doing thesis and the like in school.. after graduation.. as soon as i got a job, im planning to spare money to buy a new notebook.. have some ideas? im not into luxurious brands or something.. im into elegant but reall do well notebook.. thanks
