a non-pharmacologic measure you can do to lessen the pain is by placing a hot compress below your bellybutton for 15-20 minutes.(Note: if you're using a hot pack, cover it with a small towel to keep from burning your skin) :) Deep, slow breathing works for me, too.:) Inhale deeply through your nose, then release the air slowly through your mouth creating an "S" sound..:)

I'm happy to help another woman with red letter days woes...=) Another thing, I've learned that dysmenorrhea or cramping can be lessend if you have a bit of regular exercise (like walking). I don't have exact proof but it's something about proper flow of oxygenated blood through the tissues. The more properly oxygenated the tissues are, the less pain you have on your period. It sounds like the typical muscle cramps, but it may apply. =)

We both have the same problem. I'm having it right, how lucky can I get! I also can't take medicines because if I do, I will just throw it up and it will aggravate the suffering. What I do is just wait for the pain to be gone, that's approximately 3-4 hours, sometimes I drink a warm tea and it somehow helps. Word of advice: EXERCISE

I experience dysmenorrhea too. What I'm doing is eat a lot of chocolates. That way, it helps blood flow easily. I tried Coke and it works for me too. Another thing I'm doing is boil water, pour it in the hot water bag, wrap it in a towel and place it on my tummy. It works too. Another thing, prior to your period, eat cereals. This will help minimize your dysmenorrhea. :)
