My uncle who lost his mother to breast cancer, sent me an email yesterday about this. I have to say it was shocking. Here is the link to the news story on IBC. Many women who have IBC may remain undiagnosed for long periods, even while seeing their doctor. In some cases women have been misdiagnosed for having a bug bite, or some other non-serious aliment. IBC can be fatal if not diagnosed and treated during early stages just as with any cancer. IBC Symptoms are: YOU DON'T HAVE TO HAVE A LUMP TO HAVE BREAST CANCER! ? A lump or thickening in or near the breast or in the underarm area ? A change in the size or shape of the breast ? Nipple discharge or tenderness, or the nipple pulled back (inversion) into the breast ? Ridges or pitting of the breast (the skin looks like the skin of an orange) ?
