My green beans that I water and love and have picked and canned and loved all spring and summer have started to look like I sprayed with white paint. When I would touch the leaves my hands would come out with rust looking stuff on them. OH NO MY GREEN BEANS ARE RUSTING WHAT AM I TO DO! I went down to our local Orchard Supply store and guess what the young lady know exactly want I was talking about. I guess green beans get rust. LOL I bought a rust remover, which could be applied by dry powder or wet. I am going to mix it wed a spray it on tonight. I will keep you all posted.

I am sad to learn that the leaves of your lovely green bean plants are Rusting. Hope that the Rust on the leaves of your plants had already been removed after spraying the rust remover. I did have the same experience that happened on the leaves of my flower plant. Luckily I discovered the problem in the earlier stage and found that there was only a few leaves were affected. I removed the Rusted leaves immediately so as to prevent it from spreading. I believe the white powder-like stuffs on the leaves probably are tiny fungus or harmful pests which will attack and kill the plants eventually. I was told that a mixture of copper sulphate and lime could be an effective fungicide.
