or do you just go to the letter that is wrong and just redo the letter..I find myself backspacing the whole word or sometimes words to get to the mistake and then redo it..I have found I do it to a whole sentence sometimes..I have no clue why I do it this way...I just keep backspacing until I get to the mistake and then redo it...It's crazy...What about you?

Hello Feona1962, I am not as good as you! I don't even realize when I misspelled the word. If I do, I will just go to the letter and redo it. I am very lazy, for your info *smiles* I am impatient too. I don't even preview my response and just press the 'post response' button and skip the tag *winks*

Hello Feona1962, Thanks for the best response tag. This is what a friend is for... *laughs* I love that so much and want to give you a big and real HUG. Oh, no....you are too big for me to hug! *laughs* I am kidding. Great life makes my life real funny now. P.S. If I have the opportunity to ask from My Lot, I want to tell them to let us edit/delete the comments/responses and I will hire you for free to help me with this! I am just lazy and becoming lazier now.

If I catch it in time I just go insert the letter and or take the letter out that doesnt nee to be there a lot easier than backspaceing all the way

Hello Feona1962!:-) I do it both ways. It depends on the situation I am into. If it's a single words, I'll delete to retype it. If there are two words wrong I'll delete both of them before typing them again. If, however, in the last two words, only second last is wrong, I'll direct my pointer to the specific letter to change it. Sometimes, I do find myself deleting the whole line, not because of spelling error but because it isn't making proper sense. So I'll delete the sentence and would write the new one. I also do editing when I have typed my response. There, if I see some error, I'll go to the word to correct it and will not delete my whole message.

you are welcome! You have a point there when you say that doing from keyboard is more speedy than reaching out to mouse. I agree!

We have alot in common then..I just find it easier to speed along by using the keyboard and not reaching for the mouse. Of course, speeding right along is why I am backspacing so much in the first place...LOL...thank you..

I usually just change out the letter for the correct one. My mom does like you and I just stare at her like she's insane - to me it seems weird to delete a whole sentence for one word. I used to point out her spelling errors on certain places on line but now I don't because she started making me retype her posts. haha!

my method is "erase last letter, but when I do mistake several times at one word, better to delete whole word and start to wtrie it again :-D)"

Actually what I do is delete the whole word and go back and retype it all but sometimes I have to actually look up the word cause I know it's wrong.. Even after typing it twice if it don't look right..

I think it is just faster to backspace then reach for the mouse...I have a dictionary on my desk and I do refer to it often...some words just don't look right...

I mostly backspace, because when I try to do the one letter, the whole word will get deleted most of the time anyways.

I have done that too! I am so used to backspacing that I don't even think about it. I am not always grabbing for the mouse either...

Do you mean I am not the only one who does that? I will go back and retype the whole word, although sometimes I just go back to the mistaken letter. However, now that I have the spelling correction, I can just select the right word, that is, if it is the right word and not something like it. I haven't done to a whole sentence yet, because well I am a touch typist.

I only backspace to correct the error, I don't delete the whole word! It'd be a waste of time to delete the entire word.

No not crazy at all LOL I backspace too, its easier for me anyways. Trying to highlight the letter that is incorrect takes a little bit of doing and sometimes I end up messing it up in the first place, so backspace is faster and easier for me!

I use my mouse to go to where I have to go to correct. I have to say I have noticed a similar behaviour in some older individuals. It must have to do with the old typewriters where you had the manually go back all the way to your mistake.

I assume you are referring to correcting a mis-spelled word you have typed on a computer. There is always the mouse to point to the incorrect word or letter. Either I point to the character, or I will just hightlight the word or sentence and then type it over. At times, I do backspace to remove the letters. I always do backspacing when sending sms on my handphone :P

Is there suppose to be a hyphen in the word? I thought it looked weird...LOL..I just think it is easier just to use the backspace because it is on the keyboard and that way I don't have to keep reaching for my mouse...I won't delete a whole discussion because of a mis-spelled word...When I am proof-reading then I would take my mouse and use it to point to the letter or word...

yeah, sometimes it's faster to just hit backspace all the way than to get the mouse and accurately target for the letter. it's not that crazy dear we all do it. in fact, I just did myself when I had an extra space between w and e for we!!

OMG I thought I was the only one who does this. It is easier to just go and fix the letter but I find myself backspacing to fix it. Why is it that we do this? I guess I have to do things the long way.It is a crazy thing to do but I just do it.
