What can you say about people who loves to sleep all day?

I knew of friends who prefers to sleep all day, as if they were so very tired, unfortunately, that's actually what they want than doing the chores or goes to work. Those people, who have no determination to do what they really want and never act at all, when they are the very first one to tell you, I want this, I want that. I want to do this, I want to do that. However, upon saying all these things, they end up sleeping and say, "Am tired or am lazy..." Isn't it annoying to encounter people like that? Easy go lucky ones. Totally lazy...

I guess I see it differently. I am a late night person. I work until 6 or 7 a.m. writing. While I don't sleep all day (as you see, it is noon), I think people should do what they want. Many people who sleep a lot are depressed, not lazy. Sleeping is a great escape from the pressures and pain of depression and I usually can tell when someone is depressed by their sleeping habits. I really don't see it as lazy at all. Sure, there are some people with no true ambition and who just lay around but if they work at night, they have to sleep sometime. If they're depressed, they should get help. As for my own situation, I have gone to bed at 10 a.m., slept until 5 p.m. and worked all night again. I get everything done - just on a different time schedule than the rest of the world. And I LIKE it! I am not depressed and have a load of energy. I just prefer to work at night and am lucky enough to be able to do so with my writing. If I have or had a friend who was sleeping all the time, though, I would be concerned, not annoyed about it.

I know this had been a very very late reply and the discussion is 3 years old as stated. Well, it took me quite some time to realize that I need to denote BR's for unresolved discussions. That is why am here dealing this now. Well, your situation is different my friend compared to that kind of people I am referring to. I am actually referring to people or individuals who have a habit to sleep all day than doing nothing at all. They are not working and no interest to do some thing than sleep or go out with friends drinking or anything non sense. Your situation is that you sleep day time because you are working at night which is of course reasonable. By the way, thank you for the comment.

If they work in the night it is good, otherwise they are a lazy lot.

Yeah if they don't even work at night.. then yeah that is going to be a problem! I would not want to hang out with them. They would just bring me down and not let me accomplish anything.

Do you know that if you sleep longer, you live longer. For example, just for argument sake, if you sleep normally 8 hours a day, you will live till 100. If you sleep say 16 hours a day, you will live longer than 100. It is because by sleeping 8 hours, you spend more hours mooching about and you will need a very long and permant sleep quicker. By sleeping longer hours, you spend less time and waste less energy, so there is a compensating effect to allow you live longer than 100 in order for you to have a chance to spend the equal amount of time in mooching about like those who sleep less hours.

I don't do it all of the time - but when the opportuntiy presents itself I do sleep a lot. Out of four girls, 3 of us are like this and 1 isn't. I seriously think it may be genetic that some people just need more sleep, because our father is like that too. Don't get me wrong, we still get stuff done, just on a different schedule. Dad gets up early and goes to bed early, and so does one of us, the other two stay up late to accomplish what we need (usually). We all hold jobs, keep relatively clean houses (no one is perfect) but sleep like 10 hours on average if we can. My mom and one sister sleep like short little cat naps and can go on for days. We may be easy go lucky compared to them, but they stay stressed out and on the go and drive us and other people crazy sometimes. Seriously, I think it is genetic.

My twenty year old daughter does it. One time she slept until 3:30PM, I had to check to see if she was still alive. I fuss with her all the time about being lazy. It really annoys me. I just think life is to short to be sleeping it away.

The people those use to sleep the whole day i think they are the luckest people on this earth. As the life is so fast and so materialistic that one is not getting enough time to rest. These days people do complain that they are getting sleepless nights because of the tensions. So really they are the GOd's loved one those are getting not 5-6 hours but the whole day for rest.LOL....

I do agree, it is really irritating to be with people like these. They want a lot but don't even lift a finger to get what they want. They are suckers and pity those people who they attach themselves too!

I have a friend who I traveled here to Korea with who is like that. On the weekends she sleeps late into the afternoon. I think it's a waste as I make an effort to get out and do/see something new every free day I have. I totally understanding resting up from the previous week. But, that doesn't require an entire day. In fact, too much sleep makes you even more tired. I guess I prefer to take advantage of every moment of free time to engage in activities that can enhance my quality of life or help me grow in some way.

Yes u re right.Laziness makes people's mind to work as a devil's mind. There dont know what to do and there keep on screaming on their fellowman without any reason.THey cant be a self starter in each work.Even though they start, they stop it in the middle becoz of laziness. They themselves feel unpleasant and makes the surrounding atmosphere too unpleasant.Day by day the anger increase in them and sometimes they go even into the depressed state. It really makes anger to other people by seeing the behaviour of that person Specially i saw this in my friend who is in this stage at present.I used to tell her the drawbacks oflaziness. She didnot agree inspite now she is in depressed state and she is not talking to any body and she is talking of herself.

People who loves sleeping all day are lazy people. The Holy book even says so. Hardworking people or business minded people hardly sleep, all they think about is how to make things work out for them. It isnt good to make friends with those that loves to sleep.

sleep all day?? the entire day?? is that possible. I mean wont that be called hibernation or something?? WOW!! I ve never heard of such a thing. I really pity them and sorry i have no clue as to what to do with such people. But really how can people just lie in bed all day until and unless you are sick or something. I guess just kick them in the back and get em out of bed.

I don't really like lazy people. The worst thing is if you try to work on a project or get something done with a person like that. It will NEVER get done. Well I think that people who are ambitious are the people I rather hang out with! Well talk to you later. Have fun and make lots of money!!

I hate the lazy sleeping all day. But heavy boose sleeping nobody can say. It happens due to their habituals. Eventhough laziness persists one cannot sleep often also.Hence I do not know how they are sleeping all day .
