How do you acheive ranking as most active blog?

I'd like to add a blog to the My Lot blog database to help increase my blog traffic and readership. I think that others would enjoy reading what I have to say. But, I would like to know how to acheive the ranking of "most active blog." With thousands of potential blogs available, I would think that it is important to make this list so that others will know about my blog. Could someone please answer this question for me. Are frequently updated blogs considered to be "most active?" Or, are heavily visited blogs considered for this title? How would someone get their blog onto this list? Would love an answer. Thanks!
