In most meals in my country, RICE is always present during breakfast, lunch and dinner. Bread usually are for snacks. Mashed Potato is a side dish. Among the three i always loved MASHED POTATO with gravy. In some countried i believe mashed potato is always part of their meals. Is this true? Or you also prefer rice? Do share your culture? Which you like best?

I love mashed potatoes and gravy if I had to pick one that would be it. I am also a big bread eater I could not live without bread, as far as rice goes I can take it or leave it.

I like bread..a lot! If I could eat it for all meals I would. But I am the exception to the rule here I think. While a lot of people prefer rice, I don't really like it all that much. It has to be cooked really well, and "dressed-up" for me to like it. But most meals here *are* made with either rice or pasta (macaroni) as the starch component. Sometimes flour is used to make dumplings, or cornflour to make coo-coo which Italians have something similar to, called polenta. Bread is definitely used mainly for breakfast but can be used for lunch on the go and even "dinner" aka what we eat as our last meal for the day. This of course differs with different people. Some would actually eat more rice at the end of the day too. For lunch, dinner or anytime, a lot of fast-food places sell sandwiches, and offer them in combos with fries. I also like mashed potato, but don't like the work involved in preparing it! So it's not a favorite choice of mine when cooking.

I like mashed potatoes the best. I really do not like rice muce, except for breakfast sometimes with sugar and wilk. To me rice just does not have any taste to it at all. Now my partner is from the south and he prefers rice over potatoes.

At least in the U.S. a potatoes is most present at Dinner time.. Rice is optional I am thinking.. I am sure though alot of people do eat it during supper.. For me and my family we like the potato option but we do have plenty of rice and I really like rice but I am not cooking it because it tends to take for ever to cook unless it's instant rice, I don't mind that stuff much at all..
