It's amazing how things change

I grew up washing dishes by hand and swore I would never get a dishwasher. When I ended up buying a house that already had a dishwasher, that completely changed. I swore I would never go by to doing them by hand! However, I notice that I not only do them by hand recently, but I am having fun doing it. My 20 month old daughter loves to get in a chair next to me and watch, she gets very excited and loves it. It puts a smile on my face and makes it something special instead of a chore. What things have changed for you since becoming a parent that you never thought possible?

when I become A parents I realized that my schedules and priorities changes. For example instead of buying things for me, I make sure that the needs of my baby is being answered first. I can't attend anymore to the meetings if my baby is sick, unlike before I had a 100 percent attendance.

I never thought I would choose to get up early, unless I had to. Now I actually enjoy getting out of bed before 10 am and having a little bit of me time in the morning before my son gets out of bed. I also used to love going shopping and buying the newest CD's and DVD's and clothes and stuff. Now I don't even really like to shop because it makes my son tired. When I do buy CD's and/or DVD's, most of the time they are for my son instead of me. I just like buying him things and seeing him smile.

When we got our first apartment together it didn't have a dishwasher and it was no biggie. I figured it would "give me something to do" since #3 was on the way and we decided it was time for me to stay home rather than hand my pay check over for child care. :) NOW I can't live without one.
