Do you consider people from the internet your friend?

I've made some really good friends online and have met most of them. There are a few at Epinions that I have met up with and they were all a complete riot. One of my "bestest" friends is someone that I met online .. that was years ago and we are still best buds even though we live about 400 miles from each other.

I am quite picky these days as to who I call my friend (on and offline). I have made some very special friendships online and have met a few people offline at events and it was great to finally meet the girls I had been talking to for years. (I don't think I met any guys from the net since ages ago when I was little Miss Trust.) We are still real close now after about 8 years of knowing one another. I consider them friends. I have a few others I consider real friends. Most, I admit, I consider people online "net friends" and, while I like them and enjoy their company, I am always aware that what I think of people online may be very different from what they really are like. I have had some instances of meeting very nice people who ended up stalking me and causing me crazy problems and I thought they were my good friends. Now I use the term friend somewhat cautiously. I love my acquaintances online but I have seen how fast some can turn so I don't put my whole heart into many net relationships anymore. I hate that I feel that way but I have seen firsthand a good friend turn on me instantly without any real reason. Hurts.

Yes i consider people from the internet as friends only if i feel that they are trustworthy. I have an online friend whom i know for 3yrs, we've been chatting eversince and the funny part is he is just like 30mins drive from my place hehehe There are some people who i've met personally and became more than friends =D

Yes, I consider them as being my friends. I haven't met any online friends, but I do hope to someday..I know there are some that I won't beable to meet in person, but I will continue to email and such, regardless..
