Hello everybody. I just bought some golf clubs through www.golfgamestuff.com. Well, I actually went through ebay to get them. But they are an old set because I want to learn to play golf. What's the first thing that I should learn how to do? I have never played and barely watched golf so I know absolutely nothing.

You should try golfsmith.com. as a beginner golfer, you really would not know the exact golf set that you would eventually really use as you get better because your swing changes in time. Golfsmith has clearance sales, pre-owned sets and big discounts on older models. but equipment isnt what you really should be worried right now, get a pro to teach you the basics, and then he would be able to tell you eventually what clubs would suit you. The pro can teach you the basic stance, grip, swing, and then after that its all feel meaning there are a lot of unorthodox swings for golfers and the manage to do well.

Hi there. Thanks! I did visit golfsmith.com and love it! I also like www.golfgamestuff for golf too. Both will help me yet! I am so excited about learning golf and I honestly hated the game until recently and now I am an addict!

The most important thing to learn first is the proper grip. Since that is you only coneection to the club, it is crutial that you grip the club correctly. There are different methods, the most popular being the overlapping and the interlocking. The overlapping is the most prevalent, but I recommend the interlocking. It offers a little more control. IMO. Also that is the grip used by the 2 best golfers that ever lived. Jack Nicklous and Tiger Woods. There must be something to it. Second most important thing is to have fun and play with someone that knows the game, and is very encouraging and patient. Spouses are not usually the best choice for this. Good Luck!!
