Me and my husband lately have found ourselves watching Dr. Phil. Sometimes we would watch Montel, but usually it was just the end of it while waiting for the news to come on. We have found that we really do enjoy watching Dr. Phil. Some of the advice and problems on the show have been closely related to some that we had. Do you watch talk shows regularly? Or do you think alot of them our over the top?

I only watch Montel when Sylvia Brown is on. I don't believe in the afterlife, it's just that I want to see what she is going to say next. Personally I think she is full of it and makes up everthing she says as she goes along. I watch Dr. Phil when my 4 year old isn't hogging the TV lol. Sometimes though, he pisses me off. He says things to people that are so mean sometimes. I understand some people need to hear the truth but there was this one lady on, she was obese and she told Dr. Phil that she was happy with herself the way she was and he kept trying to convince her that she wasn't happy with being fat. I wanted to wring his neck. To me that is emotional abuse by a therapist. I mean the woman is happy, why try to make her feel that she shouldn't be.

I randomly watch talkshows if I can't find anything else on tv and if I think the show might be mildly entertaining. I think a lot of them are hyped up and made up stories, or stories taken from people that created more drama in their families for the simple fact of getting on tv because they want to create a lot of drama for others to enjoy. Then again, I'm sure some people really do have crazy things occuring in their lives, I just think a lot of those shows are done that way to get some nice ratings.
