I have got my new comp. Its was damn expensive. I convinced my parents to get it. But i got a high end motherboard which the shopkeeper suggested. Great i was really happy but then one problem he didnt have the monitor and speakers i wanted so i had to wait for one more day. Next day i get everything i was very happy but it was short lived as i installed Vista it took ages, Ok it was done. Then no drivers work. Bad. Then i got all the drivers, my comp was running barely. Then to my shock i found out that the board i got had loads of compatibility problems. The worst i cant install any probe to detect my Cpu temp. As i feel my bios is not displaying it correctly. What can i do? Get a really expensive comp to have so many compatibilty problems. Have you ever come across something like this before?

I just think shopkeepers want to sell you something expensive, and they dont care about it. You should take it back, or go see them and tell them you want it working properly, and they should have to fix it. I hope you get it sorted out. Best wishes, mohit

Well thats not the problem of the vendor as its ASUS motherboard having issues so i think he can only change but i am skeptical about it.

Try to sell out that board and get a new one. Or may be a graphics card could help you with windows vista. Whats the size of RAM that you are using?

That's Vista for you! I bought a notebook that came with Vista Home basic and I didn't like it. So, I tried to downgrade it to Windows XP and guess what? The hardwares that came with the notebook, such as, the audio card, is not compatible with XP. I had no choice, since I need the IIS for one of the programs that I am using, I got myself a Vista Ultimate. Thanks God that the notebook came with a 120 GB HDD and 2 GB RAM. If not, as what I heard from many people who run Vista on a lower spec machines, I would have lots of problems such as too slow and so on and so forth. So far, I am doing okay with the notebook although at times I feel that it would be running much faster on an XP.

Well i am not sure why is Ultimate much more compatible with previous Vista versions. Well i do agree Vista is the most horrible OS as yet. But i wanted to play on DX10 So i had no choice. I dont know why i feel its my Harddrive as i feel its running more that it should or it takes much more time really dont know why?
