Where did you register for your baby shower? I registered at babysrus and burlington but I didn't get much off of my registry. Everyone know I was having a girl so I got a ton of cute little girl clothes. Guess they couldn't help themselves just like me lol. What did you get for your shower?

well i didnt register anywhere because i just thought by asking for cetain items i was being too pushy or too greedy.thats just how i felt.so people asked me what i needed or wanted and i told me as long as you show up for my baby shower that i knew about, then thats all that i want for a gift would be your prencence.so i ended up with alot of gift and i was very appreciated by all of them.i got alot of great stuff, and i didnt get any doubles which was really great.but the best gift i got that day was my old friend from childhood flew from florida and surprised me.that was awesome, and she made me a christening outfit, which was so special.

That was good that you didn't get any doubles and didn't have to register. Alot of times the registry is to help keep people from having to return things but alot of times it does the opposite. So not sure if it is better to register or just say hey I'm having a baby lol. That was nice of your friend to surprise you and to make a christening outfit. I'm in the process of doing the whole christening thing right now. I finally got the dress now I need to find some shoes. Thanks for the comment

Here in Australia, baby showers aren't something many people do - i don't really like the idea coz it seems as though you're telling people what they can & cant buy for you. It also means that if you pick an expensive store, then they have no choice but to spend a lot of money, whether they wanted to or not. Like someone else said, it seems a little greedy, i think if you tell people you're having a baby & they buy you something, it's because they want to get it for you, not coz they feel obliged to do it! All my family & friends got me gifts even though i didn't ask for anything so i think it's better to let people decide what they wanna get you rather than resitering at famly places :)
